Description
A glorious debut recording from the Bristol University Singers, dedicated to works in praise of the Virgin Mary. The programme contrasts Marian music from sixteenth century, with pieces from the twentieth, and twenty-first, centuries. Masterworks from the Renaissance by Victoria and Guerrero are interspersed with compositions by Howells, Villette, and new works by David Bednall and John Pickard.

Reviews
This chamber choir excels in the clean, but expressive vocal lines of the Renaissance masterpieces and also displays wonderful control of dynamics in the more recent repertoire. Another fine recording from Regent. Highly recommended.β Sydney Organ Journal Spring 2015
